Dr. Anthony Fauci Denies NIH Funded Gain-of-Function Research

During a Senate Hearing on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, Senator Rand Paul (R) questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci concerning the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China. Senator Paul wanted questions answered concerning the National Institute of Health's funding of gain-of-function research at the WIV in Wuhan, China. Dr. Fauci denied any such research was funded or was being funded at the Wuhan lab. However, Senator Paul sited two researchers who were conducting GOF research, paid for by the NIH and were exchanging data between the United States and Chinese researchers.
